I know, anyone who knows me would not really think it, but there was a time when I was extremely afraid of water. Several bad childhood experiences left me gripping to the side of pools if swimming and not ever daring to go near the diving board to jump in. And that was only if you could get me in farther then the wading section.    But one of the things that my father told me helped in getting over this fear.

He said that we don’t need to fear the water, but we do need to respect it. If we don’t respect it, its power can overwhelm us. Overtime I hated the fact that my fear was holding me back. So I forced myself to get in and go deeper. Trying out the ”waves” in the water parks and oceans, and eventually even diving off the diving board.

Now, the fear has left me. At least on the surface. Now it would be hard to think that I at one time hated this beautiful element. It’s funny. Now I can’t seem to stay away from it. I love it!

Tyler and I went out about 8ish and started setting up our equipment for the fun. Haha! We were even so safe as to of forgotten the lighter. :p Once everything was in order, Tyler got the first swing with the fire. It was sooo cool! Just by watching him I could understand why people, once they did fire, rarely go back to the glow sticks and led poi.

That feeling was heightened once I picked them up. Wow! The sound of the blazing heat rushing so close to your body, swirling around you in a vortex of intense energy. It was crazy! Next time, we’ll probably get some louder speakers for the music (the ones we had were kind of drowned out by the noise of the fire). With that along with what I described earlier, I can see no end to the trans.

I was pleasantly surprised that both of us did what neither of us expected to do our first time around with fire. Just a few hours before we had gone out to the park we had discussed that we probably wouldn’t be so daring with our moves. Little did we now that the urge to perform those very moves were too much for us once we took up the poi. I fell right into the behind-the-back 3 beat and Tyler tried out his signature buzzsaw, which looked great!

Thankfully, neither one of us got burned. Nor did any of the few spectators that showed up to watch us. lol, probably just waiting for one of our shirts go up in flames. We did feel little drops from the kerosene but oddly enough it wasn’t a lasting burn. It just felt like a drop of warm water. Like I said, a really odd feeling.

To wrap it up, it was an amazing night. Can’t wait to do it again! And ASAP!

Back to today!

Work at the bank was okay. I was kept busy by filing CDs, answering the phone, and greeting customers (as usual).
A customer came in with a 14 day old child and as is custom of practically all of the employees of this bank, they flocked around the parent and child.
I don’t ever join them, for three reasons.

One…I don’t like to look like I’m following a pack.
Two…There are always allready to many people crowding around the poor child, I wouldn’t want to be apart of the babes nightmares. lol
Three…Their “oohs” and “ahhs” are nausiating at times. lol!

It’s not that I don’t love babies! I was born the eldest of eight children and being the only girl till the youngest child was born, I have been raised all my life around children as a “second mother” so to speak.

I am pleased to say that I was able to order the return address labels for my business and I should be getting them back either friday or monday. Still praying that the signature boards that I ordered for Houston and Jay will get here by friday. Their graduation is this saturday and I’m getting extremely nervous about it!

Being both nervous and excited about my business marketing picking up I am still not finding enough time to create all the materials.
I also need to finish the printing of the graduation programs, create and order annoucements for another graduate of this month, order two girl’s prints, edit an order before ordering, and get back in contact with the coordinater of an event that I shot 2 months ago.

Too much stuff to do. But I like it that way.
I don’t like to stop action unless it is to enjoy my Creator’s work.
It is in those moments that my whole revolving world comes to a slow stop and I can sit quietly and praise Him for His majesty.
Praise Him for the rain, for His gifts of the senses, for my job and opportunities, for my family and my friends, and countless other things.

Yesterday I didn’t go see my grandmother in the hospital, but instead, stayed home and did my laundry. I also cleaned out the fridge, went to the store to get some fresh food, returned the dvds I had checked out, and worked on the home school graduation program. I had planned on printing it that evening but fate turned out to be against me.

Another graduate has been added to the list and so I waited till 11:30pm to receive this girl’s program picture and bio from her mother. Good gravy!   Do people just not understand the meaning of the word “deadline”?

Practiced for about two hours on my beautiful violin. I can’t get enough of it. The only problem is…well…I can’t read music. I play by ear. Some would say that this is a gift. But I see it as both a gift and a curse. I just don’t getreading notes on a page. I’m looking forward to maybe hiring a teacher when I move to Stillwater so I can have continuous practice in reading and playing. Work this morning was completely boring. However, I made use of my time by typing. I wrote the poem “The Violin” before lunch. And then added the reviews to “Platoon” and “Eragon”. The last two I had seen last week. Liked one, hated the other. lol.

Mom and the boys are going to come by the house after they come back from visiting my grandma so that she can proof the program before I do the bulk printing. I’m glad. I get really nervous about printing in bulk because I’m afraid that there might be a mistake on the paper.

I don’t remember there being to many times when it has rained for so long. The color of the sky is like the dirty side of the ocean and the rain pours as if we had turned the pacific upside down and let it fall thru a sifter.

I have acquired everyone but two of the graduates information for the program and I think I can acquire them before the meeting this evening. With the time and effort that I devoted to it in the last 36 hours I think and hope they will be pleased with the result.

For lunch I drove back to the house to pick up the prints and bills that I accidentally left behind this morning in my rush to arrive on time.
It was a pleasant twenty minute drive both ways and I listened to Eragon on a cd format audio book.
It disappoints me a little in its lack to provide new creature of the imagination. Instead stirring up new characters in similar creatures relatable to Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
Nevertheless, I am enjoying the story. The very fact that it was written by a young boy at the age of 15 intrigues me.

My name I will keep anonymous along with the actual real names of the people mention in my blog. So everyone who happens to fall onto this sad ranting can just call me “maiden”. I know, it’s not exactly my style but since it is partially what my real name means I think it is fitting.
And for you who connect the patterns and clues left by my expression and discover who I am (which is probably an easy task), I applaud you.

In January of this year, 2009, I launched my business in photography and it has been steadily growing ever since to my amazement and gratitude. The Lord obviously has a sense of humor.
